I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade in January-June 2014 amounted to US$1.66 billion, dropping 7.2% on a year-on-year basis. The mainland's export to Macao was valued US$1.55 billion, and the mainland's import from Macao was US$110 million, down 1% and 50.6% respectively on a year-on-year basis.
In June 2014, mainland-Macao trade amounted to US$290 million, going up 6.9% month on month. US$280 million was recorded in mainland's export to Macao, going up 7.2% month on month and US$20 million was mainland's import from Macao, going up 3.9% month on month.
II. Investment from Macao
During January-June 2014, 161 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going up 15% on a year-on-year basis. The actually used capital from Macao increased 26.2% on a year-on-year basis to US$330 million.
In June 2014, 34 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going down 20.9% on a month-on-month basis. The actual use of Macao capital went up 113.6% than that of the previous month to US$90 million.
As of the end of June 2014, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the mainland were 13,613 with the actual use of US$11.68 billion. In terms of utilized capital, funds from Macao accounted for 0.8% of the mainland’s accumulated attraction of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
During January-June 2014, the mainland had 7 contracted projects in Macao with a combined value of US$1.49 billion. Turnover amounted to US$240 million. As of the end of June 2014, the number of laborers dispatched to Macao was 98,443 and accumulated turnover amounted to US$10.03 billion.
