Southwest China's Yunnan Province has received 680 million yuan (US$110 million) in cash donations as of Saturday, almost two weeks after a 6.5-Magnitude earthquake shook the province's Ludian County.
Additionally, donations of food, clothing and other relief materials were valued at 212.5 million yuan (US$34.5 million), the provincial civil affairs bureau said in a press release Saturday.
The donations were received through the provincial government, the city government of Zhaotong, the provincial charity, the Red Cross and the provincial federation of industry and commerce, it said.
The quake on Aug. 3, the strongest to hit Yunnan in 14 years, killed more than 600 people and destroyed 80,000 homes in Ludian and surrounding areas.
