China Unicom's 4G network to cover 300 cities

China Unicom, one of the country's major telecommunications operators, is aiming to build 100,000 4G base stations by the end of the year, according to Sina.com.cn.

The plan will bring 300 or more cities into Unicom's 4G network.

On March 18, the company launched its first 4G packages covering 25 Chinese cities.

Together with more than 20 mobile phone makers, China Unicom is selling 4G phones that include Sony Z1, HTC One Max, and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
