Beijing visitors enjoy higher pay

Visitors to Beijing have monthly salaries nearly four times above the national average, the city's tourism authority said on Tuesday.
Visitors to the capital last year had an average monthly income of 5,757 yuan ($920), nearly 3.8 times higher than the national average of 1,526 yuan, according to research released by the Beijing Tourism Development Commission.
Individual travelers to the capital spent an average of 2,122 yuan, while those on group tours spent an average of 3,597 yuan, it said.
Visitors to Beijing tend to spend more on attractions and souvenirs than on food, accommodation and transportation, the commission said.
Travel agencies should further study the consumption habits of visitors and produce more tailored tour packages, the commission added.
It also found that visitors on business trips spend more than those on vacations and that visitors from regions far from Beijing tend to spend more than other visitors to the capital.
