Huawei to run ICT forum in Zimbabwe

China's telecommunications firm Huawei will host a public information and communications technology (ICT) forum in Harare in collaboration with the government on Thursday.
Participants will be drawn from all ministries and state owned enterprises. In an interview on Wednesday, ICT ministry principal director Cosmas Chigwamba said Huawei experts will share their experience from all over the world with a particular focus on Sub- Saharan Africa.
He said the objective is to spread the knowledge and skills in the information sector for promoting sustainable socio-economic development for successful transformation in Zimbabwe.
Huawei, a major telecom services supplier in Africa, has undertaken projects in a number of Africa, including E-education in South Africa, E-healthcare in Angola, E-governance in Kenya, Madagascar and South Africa, as well as E-public security in Nigeria.
