Zhongguancun companies win national science and tech awards

Five companies located in the Zhongguancun Science Park recently won prizes at the 2013 National Science and Technology Awards Conference, which recognized ten scientists and 313 achievements.
A total of 188 scientific achievements won the National Award for Science and Technology Progress, which included three special prizes, 24 first prizes, and 161 second prizes.
Beijing Jinse Nonghua Seed Industry Ltd, a company in Zhongguancun Science Park, received one of the two special prizes for its work concerning bilinear hybrid rice.
In addition, three achievements supported by four other Zhongguancun companies – China Transportation and Water Transport Design Ltd, China Railway Group, the China Electric Power Research Institute and Vimicro Ltd - were awarded first prizes.
And 16 other achievements supported by 20 Zhongguancun high-and-new technology enterprises were awarded second prizes.
