China's largest trade union announced on Tuesday that it provided 9.28 million people with free employment assistance in 2013.
Chen Hao, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), made the remarks at a meeting of the union's executive committee.
Chen said the ACFTU provided vocational training for 1.3 million people and helped 85,300 university graduates from needy working households successfully find jobs in 2013.
Founded on May 1, 1925, the ACFTU is China's only umbrella union and has 31 provincial trade union federations, 10 national industrial unions and more than 1.3 million grassroots trade union organizations.
The ACFTU is the world's largest trade union with 290 million members, 110 million of whom are migrant workers from rural areas working in cities.
The ACFTU's role includes coordinating labor relations and seeking better working conditions for its members.
