Macao's inflation hits 5.78% in November

Macao's Composite Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November this year went up by 5.78 percent over the same period of last year, according to the figures released Thursday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

In comparison with November 2012, price index of housing and fuels, and food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded notable year- on-year increase of 11.2 percent and 6.48 percent respectively during the period, due to higher charges for eating out, and dearer prices of fresh meat and vegetable, according to the figures.

Meanwhile, price index of communication decreased by 1.77 percent respectively year-on-year.

The average Composite CPI for the first eleven months of 2013 increased by 5.48 percent year-on-year. For the 12 months ending in November 2013, the average Composite CPI rose by 5.51 percent from the preceding period.
