China generated 100.8 billion kilowatt hours of wind power in 2012, marking a 41-percent rise from 2011, the National Energy Administration said Tuesday.
The amount represented about 2 percent of the country's total electricity sent through the state grid, according to a statement on the administration's website.
The figures are based on statistics from the national wind power information management center, the statement said.
In the wind power sector, 62.66 million kilowatts of installed capacity was connected to the state grid by the end of 2012, up 31 percent year on year.
The amount of wind power generated in 2012 saved 32.86 million tonnes of coal, 167 million tonnes of water and 84.34 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, the statement said.
