Huadian Group's New Energy Installed Capacity to Hit over Mln kw in 2013

China Huadian Corp., one of China’s five major power utilities, said on Wednesday it will produce 1.4 million kw of power from renewable resources this year.

Huadian plans to construct a series of national projects using wind power, including a 200,000 kw program in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a 400,000 kw program in Gansu Province and 200,000 kw program in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. A pilot project involving wind power in sea areas will also launch later this year.

Regarding solar energy, Huadian’s focus is on the construction of the Shichengzi project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Jiayuguan project in Gansu Province.

Two pilot national programs of distributed power generation are expected to be completed in Shanghai Xinzhuang Industrial Park and Creative Space in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province.

Huadian has put its strength in the development of new energy sector beginning last year, and its installed new energy capacity reaches 4.5 million kw.
