Another 37 cases of A/H1N1 influenza were detected across Israel over the past two days, bringing the total number to 506, reported local news service Yneton on Wednesday.

The newly found patients are quarantined at home and in good conditions, the Health Ministry was quoted as saying, without specifying how and where these patients contracted the virus.

No death case has been reported so far in the Jewish state, which has a population of about 7 million. Most of the previously reported patients have already recovered.

In light of its rapid spreading worldwide, the World Health Organization (WHO) last month raised the A/H1N1 alert to its highest level, formally declaring that it had developed into a global pandemic.
