A/H1N1 Flu Cases in Vietnam Increase to 123

Vietnam's Ministry of Health confirmed 15 more A/H1N1 flu cases in the country, bringing total number of flu patients to 123, local newspaper the Liberty Saigon on Tuesday.

Of the 15 newly-detected cases, 13 cases were detected in Ho Chi Minh City and the rest two in Hanoi, said the ministry.

Of these patients, there was one Thai patient entering the country through the Moc Bai border gate in southern Tay Ninh province of Vietnam, becoming the first case of flu coming to Vietnam by land, said Tay Ninh department of health.

The Thai patient entered Vietnam from Cambodia on Saturday on the coach with the number registration of 53N9264 and sharing with other 28 passengers on that coach, according to the online newspaper Vietnamnet.

Vietnam has so far reported no death of the influenza A/H1N1, according to Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan.

To carry out preventive measures at all localities of Vietnam, the ministry proposed the establishment of the inter-sector inspection units so as to well monitor the flu developments in an effective way.
