Austria confirmed another A/H1N1 new flu patient on Wednesday evening, the seventh case in Austria since the end of April.

According to Austrian Press Agency (APA), Hubert Hrabcik, Austrian Public Health Director General, said that the new case, a female patient living in Salzburg, was confirmed on Wednesday. She took a trip to the United States with some other people for ten days.

The patient is currently under medical treatment and in a good condition. People who had contact with her during the trip are now under examination.

Hrabcik also noted that from Wednesday on, the Austrian Airline began to register relevant contact information of all the passengers directly flying from Washington, New York and Toronto to Austria. The information will be kept in the Austrian Health Ministry for two weeks so as to be able to contact those people as soon as possible when necessary.

The first A/H1N1 patient in Austria was confirmed on April 29, who has recovered and was released from the hospital on May 2. Six more patients were confirmed successively since the beginning of June.

Hrabick said that no A/H1N1 new flu patient with serious symptoms has been found in Austria so far.
