Canada's Confirmed A/H1N1 Flu Cases Rise to 1,118

The total of confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases in Canada has risen to 1,118, including two deaths, according to the latest figures released by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) on Wednesday.
Compared with the figure on Monday, 197 new cases were added during the past two days. Ontario reported 143 new cases, bringing the total to 495, the most among the nine provinces and one territory that have reported infections.
Quebec added 22 new cases, bringing the total to 207. The province of British Columbia reported five new cases, bringing the total to 120, the third most among the provinces.
As of Wednesday, the average age reported is 22 years or younger with median age at 17 years and the patients ranging from 1 year old to 86 years old.
To date 43 hospitalizations and two deaths have been confirmed. One death involves a 39-year old woman from Alberta and the other was a 44-year-old man from Ontario. Both had chronic medical conditions.
