Peru's Health Ministry on Tuesday confirmed the country's fourth A/H1N1 flu case in a student from a private school.
Representatives of the Health Ministry visited the school on Monday, when they said there was a probable case of A/H1N1 flu in one of its students, which later was confirmed by lab tests, said the school principal Martha Arbulu.
Arbulu said that the student was infected during a trip with her school mates to Santo Domingo, capital of Dominican Republic, from where they returned on May 14.
The student showed flu symptoms shortly after arriving in Lima, Arbulu said.
Peru detected its first A/H1N1 flu case on May 9. According to the health ministry, the conditions of all four patients are stable and they are responding to the antiviral.
