Canada on Tuesday added 25 mild cases of the A/H1N1 flu virus infections, bringing the total to 165, according to figures revealed by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Among the new cases, seven are in British Columbia, where two schools have been closed because of the outbreak. Nova Scotia reported 10 new cases, others were found in Quebec, Alberta and Ontario. The capital city of Ottawa reported its first case.
Alberta provincial health officials said a young girl suffering a severe case is "recovering well" and is now breathing on her own. She is the country's first severe case to require hospitalization. There have been no details about her symptoms.
Except this case, all other cases in Canada have been mild, with most patients having recovered.
