1st Case of A/H1N1 Flu Confirmed in Missouri, US

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday announced the first confirmed case of A/H1N1 flu in the State of Missouri.
The CDC said the patient is a woman from Kansas City area, Missouri.
The woman is around 30 years old and has recently returned from Mexico, the state Department of Health and Senior Services said in a written statement late Friday.
She has received antiviral medicine. was not hospitalized and was recovering well, the statement added.
Missouri's second probable case of A/H1N1 flu is a 19-year-old young man, also from Kansas City area. He was detected on Thursday and has no history of travel to Mexico.
The state Health Department is contacting people who've been in touch with the young man and may have been in contact with the illness. Governor Jay Nixon has said Missouri's local health agencies and state officials are following the state plan for dealing with the flu outbreak.
The health department said it has distributed medical supplies and antiviral medications to every county in the state. For fearing large public gatherings can help A/H1N1 flu spread easily, some festivals and athletic events have been canceled in the state.
Other event organizers say they're taking every precaution.
