Israel Coordinates Influenza Meeting with PNA, Egypt, Jordan

Israeli health authority held on Friday a meeting with representatives of Jordan, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), and Egypt, to coordinate efforts to combat influenza A/H1N1 in the region.
According to a statement issued by Israeli Foreign Ministry, the officials were updated during the meeting on the latest developments related to H1N1 flu in their respective countries, including the steps taken by the authorities to identify H1N1 flu patients.
No instances of H1N1 flu have been reported among their countries, said representatives of Jordan, Egypt, and the PNA. All sides pledged to maintain contact and continue to exchange information so as to facilitate the containment of H1N1 flu virus in the region.
The officials scheduled to meet again in two weeks time.
On Friday afternoon, a couple from Tel Aviv that recently returned from Mexico was hospitalized in Ichilov Medical Center due to a fear of H1N1 flu. Israeli Health Ministry said in a statement that they were in good condition.
Earlier Friday morning, a 26-year-old woman was reported to be another suspected H1N1 flu case. She was hospitalized in Haifa after feeling ill following contact with a youngster who had recently returned from Mexico.
