Babies Bring New Hope to Quake Region

The couple lost a child in the Wenchuan earthquake, a magnitude-8 tremor that hit Sichuan province on May 12, 2008. Many couples, most of whom are in their 40s, lost their children in the disaster. State and local family planning departments have been offering medical help to those who want to have another child. So far, 2,808 children have been born to these couples. [Xinhua]
