Serbian President Expresses Sympathy, Offers Aid to Japan

Expressing his deepest sympathy to the people of Japan for the series of tragic events that have befallen the country, Serbian President Boris Tadic on Thursday said his government was prepared to send aid and had readied a rescue team to go to Japan if requested, reported the Serbian news agency Tanjug.
Tadic, signing a book of condolences at the Japanese Embassy in Belgrade on Thursday, said Japan's support to Serbia in times of hardship could not be forgotten.
"This is a moment in which the whole world is united in offering help to Japan, just like Japan has always been ready to help everyone else," wrote Tadic in the book of condolences.
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Toshio Tsunozaki conveyed his gratitude for the offer of assistance in helping the Japanese people overcome their misfortunes.
