Palestinian dies of wounds suffered in anti-Israel mass rally

Xinhua,May 30, 2018 Adjust font size:

GAZA, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian died Wednesday of wounds he suffered during last Friday's anti-Israel protests, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Naji Ghuniem, 23, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Jerusalem, Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman for the health ministry in Gaza said in a statement.

The death toll of Palestinian protesters rises to 118 since the rallies known as the "Great March of Return" started on March 30 along the Gaza-Israeli border.

The rallies demand the return of Palestinians refugees who were forced to leave their cities during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948 as well as lifting the blockade Israel has been imposing on Gaza since 2007. Enditem
