Toy Story Land makes debut in Shanghai Disneyland

Xinhua,April 27, 2018 Adjust font size:

SHANGHAI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- A Toy Story themed area opened Thursday in Shanghai Disney Resort, the first expansion of the resort since its opening in 2016.

Toy Story Land, the seventh themed area of Shanghai Disneyland, is based on the popular Disney Pixar Toy Story franchise. It is a replica of the backyard of Andy, the boy from the Toy Story movies.

Visitors will feel like they have been shrunk to the size of Toy Story characters, such as Woody and Buzz.

"We're incredibly proud of the success of this one-of-a-kind, world-class destination, and we are thrilled to give our Chinese guests even more to explore and enjoy at the resort," said Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of the Walt Disney Company.

Located in Pudong District, Shanghai Disney Resort is the largest Sino-U.S. cooperation project in the modern service industry.

It received 11 million visits in its first year after opening in June 2016, which was a "tremendous success," according to Iger. Enditem
