DHAKA, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's US-Bangla Airlines is all set to launch flight operations to Guangzhou from Thursday, making it the first Bangladeshi air service to have a route to China.

Beginning on April 26, the flight will run thrice a week according to the spokesman Md. Kamrul Islam of the Dhaka-based leading private carrier.

"We will start flight for Guangzhou from Dhaka from today," US-Bangla General Manager Islam told Xinhua.

With Boeing 737-800 aircraft, he said initially three flights will be operated for Guangzhou from Dhaka on every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday.

"Hope Chinese nationals will also like the flight services and give importance."

He said Bangladesh has a good relationship with China since the country's independence.

Interactions between the business communities in Bangladesh and China have been very frequent and warm over the past years, he added.

"So far there were only Chinese airlines for communications. We are happy that now a Bangladeshi airline is also going to operate flights to China."

Initially three flights will return from Guangzhou to Dhaka on every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Enditem
