Chinese Embassy donates education equipment to Afghan school

KABUL, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy to Afghanistan donated teaching and learning equipment to a local school - Shams Orphanage here in Kabul on Thursday.

The equipment including books, stationery, laptop computers and other items, was handed over to the school principal, Maryam Gailani, at a ceremony attended by a number of school officials and students.

Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Liu Jingsong, during the handover ceremony, said that since his mission several months ago, he has provided various cooperation with the Afghan children.

Nadra Kharoot, one of the in-charges of the orphanage thanked the Chinese government for the cooperation, saying that "China has always provided assistance with the Afghan people" in various fields.

"This is a good gift to us from the people of China and we thank them for the cooperation. We hope, one time these Afghan orphans could serve their country like the Chinese youth did to their homeland," said Mrs. Kharoot. Enditem
