Brazil women's team win seventh Copa America title

SANTIAGO, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The Brazil women's football team secured a place at the 2019 World Cup in France and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by winning the Copa America on Sunday.

The Selecao took the title even before their final match of the tournament against Colombia, courtesy of Chile's 4-0 victory over Argentina earlier in the day.

Under the guidance of former Corinthians manager Oswaldo Fumeiro, known as Vadao, Brazil entered Sunday's final day of the tournament with six victories from as many matches.

Brazil have now won seven Copa America finals out of a possible eight since the first edition of the competition in 1991. Argentina are the only other team to have been crowned champions of the continental tournament, having taken the title in 2006. Enditem
