German shares gain 1.11 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, April 10 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 135.57 points, or 1.11 percent, to close at 12,397.32 points.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.04 percent. Commerzbank and industrial giant Thyssenkrupp rose by 3.66 percent and 3.27 percent respectively.

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel lost the most among the blue chips, falling 3.17 percent. Energy group E.ON and Deutsche Bank both down by 1.11 percent.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 587.99 million euros (726.81 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
