BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, ending a losing streak for four consecutive trading days, led by strong gains in the software and 5G sectors.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.05 percent to end at 3,166.65 points. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 2 percent to 10,775.71 points.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) Broad Index closed Tuesday at 5,491 points, down 78.39 points from Sunday's finish.

Among a total of 333 issues traded, 37 registered gains and 282 incurred losses while 14 remained unchanged.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Tuesday moved up 1.48 points, or 0.08 percent to close at 1,802.58 points.

Some 10.51 billion shares worth 60.75 billion baht (about 1.96 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 9.1 points, or 0.15 percent, to a level of 6,209.35 on Tuesday.

Some 401,380 transactions were booked, involving 9.2 billion copies of shares with a value of 7 trillion rupiah (about 509.5 million U.S. dollars).

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.79 percent or 26.89 points to close at 3,439.35.

A total of 1.23 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.24 billion Singapore dollars (about 953.8 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 229 to 161.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed higher Tuesday.

The market continued to trade higher, with the Sensex rising more than 100 points, tracking positive trend in global stocks.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Tuesday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,862.45, up 2.54 points or 0.14 percent, and the Emas was at 13,050.12 up 33.71 points or 0.26 percent.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 133.29 points on Tuesday, down 0.38 points or 0.29 percent against the previous trading session.

About 64.873 million shares worth some 1.169 trillion Vietnamese dong (some 52.1 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Tuesday, an increase of 7.2 percent in volume and 3.5 percent in value against the previous trading session.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 242.060 points, or 0.790 percent, to 30,790.828 points on Tuesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 30,738.758 and 30,985.75. Turnover totaled 135.20 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 17.23 billion U.S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 1,171.73 points on Tuesday, up 0.51 points, or 0.04 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 237.762 million shares worth 6.834 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (304.53 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 133 stocks went up, 156 stocks fell down, while 54 stocks remained unchanged.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 1.44 percent higher on Tuesday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 114.65 points to 8,047.03. The all-share index went up by 57.79 points, or 1.21 percent, to 4,854.46.
