China supports efforts to promote Afghanistan's reconstruction: FM

BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- China supports all efforts that contribute to the peaceful reconstruction and national reconciliation of Afghanistan, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said Friday.

Hua made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a question about China's expectations for the Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan to be held on March 27.

China is willing to, along with the international community, continue to offer assistance to and play a constructive role in the realization of Afghanistan's peace, stability and development, Hua said.

China attaches great importance to and will support the upcoming conference held by Uzbekistan, said Hua.

Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong will lead a delegation to the conference, Hua said. Enditem
