Namibia's tactics gradually taking shape ahead of clash against Uganda - Coach

WINDHOEK, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's football team will face Uganda in Group B at the Grand Stade Marrakech on Thursday night at the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) following their opening stun win over Cote d'Ivoire on Sunday.

Namibia's coach Ricardo Mannetti in a statement on Tuesday said his team needs to know how to control games and how to use possession effectively against much fancied oppositions.

"We have to control the game without the ball and we did pretty much that against Cote d'Ivoire and when we had our chances in their final third we created good chances and had more chances on target and at goal than them and that shows our tactics are gradually taking shape and we need to keep it going if it can take us forward," Mannetti said.

According to Mannetti, Uganda will be different and Namibia's plan is to play it safe one game at a time.

After Thursday clash against Uganda the team will have their final group match against Zambia, in Casablanca. The top two teams from Group B advance to the quarterfinals at the 2018 CHAN final. Enditem
