BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and Indonesia have signed an agreement on the establishment of a Bank Indonesia representative office in Beijing, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said in a statement Friday.

The agreement was signed by the PBOC Governor Zhou Xiaochuan and the Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus D.W. Martowardojo on January 5, 2018.

The establishment of a Bank Indonesia representative office in Beijing will further strengthen the cooperation between the PBOC and Bank Indonesia.

The move will also promote bilateral economic and financial relations between the two countries.

This is the ninth representative office established by foreign central banks in China, according to the statement, which did not give further details. Enditem
