Chicago agricultural commodities mixed in morning trading

Xinhua,January 12, 2018 Adjust font size:

CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural commodities traded mixed on Thursday morning, with low volume and weak export news.

March corn were up 0.25 cent at 3.4925 U.S. dollars per bushel as of 1530 GMT, while March wheat was 4 cents lower at 4.3025 dollars, while March soybeans was 1.5 cents lower at 9.535 dollars.

Wheat futures were lower on speculation that snowfall in areas where winter varieties are grown will offer some protection from forecast cold weather.

Snow is expected in the U.S. Central Great Plains and eastern Midwest heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service, which will provide some defense from winter weather.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Thursday morning released its weekly export sales report. Private exporters reported to the USDA that they've sold 37,700 tonnes of corn, 71,500 tonnes of wheat, and 617,400 tonnes of soybeans over international market. Enditem
