KATHMANDU -- More than 31,800 households in southern Nepal's Terai region, which was affected by severe floods in August last year, will receive humanitarian aid from China, according to an agreement signed here Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Nepal Country Director Renaud Meyer.(Nepal-China-Aid)

BALI, Indonesia -- Indonesia's Bali international airport was declared safe, operating normally following eruption of the island's Mount Agung volcano on Thursday afternoon.
"Condition of I Gusti Ngurah Rai international remained secure and normally operating at present. Volcanic ash from Mount Agung did not spread to Denpasar," National Disaster Mitigation Agency Spokesperson Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said, referring to Bali province's capital city where the airport sits in.(Indonesia-Volcano)

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- Twenty-three militants were killed and 14 others arrested following an operation in Nangarhar province, east of Afghanistan, Wednesday night, said the provincial government on Thursday.
"Special Operations Forces of National Directorate of Security (NDS) raided two Taliban hideouts in Soordog locality, Khogyani district Wednesday night. As a result 23 militants were killed and 14 others arrested," it said in a statement.(Afghanistan-Militants)
