STOCKHOLM -- A man was killed and a woman injured when an object exploded Sunday outside a subway station in southern Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, Swedish Television reported on Sunday.
The blast, at the Varby Gard station in the municipality of Huddinge, which is about 11 kilometers south of Stockholm, took place when someone picked up an object, which then exploded, the report said. (Sweden-Subway Explosion)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Petroleum Ministry on Sunday confirmed that 32 crew members, including 30 Iranians and two Bangladeshis, have gone missing after two vessels collided off China's east coast.

FARAH, Afghanistan -- The airstrikes conducted by Afghan forces have left up to 31 militants dead in the war-battered country since Saturday, officials said Sunday.

MADRID -- Cold weather and heavy snow brought chaos to Spanish roads on Saturday and Sunday, thousands of people were forced to spend Saturday night in their cars, Spanish media and emergency services reported.
Thousands were trapped by heavy snowfalls on the key A-6 and AP-6 roads, which head northwest out of the Spanish capital of Madrid and were closed in the region of Castilla-Leon, where 240 members of the Spanish Military Emergency Unit were called into action to help clear snow and free trapped cars in the province of Segovia.
