LUSAKA, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- The Zambian government has expressed concern over the increased failure by local authorities to follow procedure when allocating land in their respective areas, a situation that was causing lawlessness in land administration.

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Jean Kapata said government will not entertain lawlessness in land administration and has since directed all local authorities to adhere to guidelines and procedures in land administration. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Some clearing agents in southern Zambia's Chirundu district south of the country have opposed new tax measures on imported second hand motor vehicles introduced by the government.

Chirundu Clearing and Forwarding Association vice president Gift Chanda said the government needed to explain to the public why it had imposed the increment on taxes on imported second hand motor vehicles without approval from parliament. (The Mast) Enditem
