Albanian economy expands by 3.55 pct y/y in Q3

TIRANA, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Albania's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.55 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2017, the country's statistical office INSTAT said Friday.

On a quarterly comparison basis, Albania's economy grew by 0.38 percent in the July-September period, statistical office said in a report on the Albania's economic growth in Q3, 2017.

The main contributors to Albania's economic growth in the third quarter were retail trade, transport and accommodation services, as well as public administration, education, health and construction.

"Construction activity grew by 7.64 percent, mainly influenced by private investments associated with Trans Adriatic Pipeline, as well as by companies that make public works," INSTAT said. Enditem
