German shares lose 0.48 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 62.30 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 12,917.64 points.

German pharmaceutical company Merck lost the most among the blue chips, down by 1.29 percent, followed by chemical group BASF and building materials company HeidelbergCement, which lost 1.19 percent and 0.93 percent respectively.

German energy group RWE, European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 and energy group E.ON were the top three winners, rising 0.42 percent, 0.25 percent and 0.19 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 188.28 million euros (225.80 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
