Singapore stocks close 0.11 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed up 0.11 percent or 3.82 points to close at 3402.92.

A total of 1.13 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.03 billion Singapore dollars (about 768.86 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 232 to 184.

The STI index closed up 0.22 percent or 7.43 points to close at 3399.1 on Thursday. Enditem
