Singapore stocks close 0.4 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.4 percent or 13.51 points closing at 3,391.67.

A total of 1.25 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 616.6 million Singapore dollars (about 459.74 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 244 to 134.

The STI index closed down 0.22 percent, or 7.55 points, to close at 3,378.16 on Tuesday. Enditem
