MUMBAI, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Friday as benchmarks indices remained strong in late trade, backed by technology, oil and banking & financial stocks.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 33,940.30, 184.02 points or 0.55 percent up compared to its previous close at 33,756.28. Enditem
