Singapore stocks close 0.09 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed up 0.09 percent or 3.18 points to close at 3385.71.

A total of 1.19 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 747.4 million Singapore dollars (about 557.8 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 196 to 177.

The STI index closed down 0.36 percent or 12.34 points to close at 3382.53 Thursday. Enditem
