LOS ANGELES, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- All 58 victims killed in the Las Vegas concert massacre died of gunshot wounds, according to a report issued Thursday by the Coroner's office of the Clark County in the western U.S. state of Nevada.
The shooter, Stephen Paddock, rained down about 1,600 rounds of ammo from the 32th floor suite of Mandalay Bay hotel into a crowd of 22,000 concert goers on Oct. 1, making the tragedy the largest mass shooting in U.S. modern history.
According to the report on the cause and manner of death for the massacre victims, all of the deaths were ruled homicides by the gunshot.
Eighteen of the victims died of at least one gunshot wounds of head, 15 were hit at least one time in the back, and 21 killed by at least one gunshot wound to the chest. The rest were shot in the leg and neck. Six victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Coroner John Fudenberg was quoted as saying by a local daily newspaper, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, that it took his office so long to release the information because his staff was striving for accuracy and wanted to update the families first. Enditem
