Albania's trade with EU accounts for 66 pct of total exchanges

TIRANA, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Albania's exports to European Union member states accounted for 78.3 percent of the country's total exports, whereas imports accounted for 60.3 percent of the total, a report of Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) showed Thursday.

Thus, trade exchanges with European Union countries accounted for 66 percent of Albania's exchanges in November.

Meanwhile, Albania exports in the first eleven months of this year were valued at 251 billion lek (2.23 billion U.S. dollars), registering a 13.2-percent growth compared to the same period of the previous year.

Imports from EU countries were valued at 565 billion lek, up by 8 percent year on year from a year ago, the report showed.

According to INSTAT, Albania's trade exchanges with the EU states in the 11 months of this year accounted for 66.3 percent of the total.

Italy, China, Germany and Turkey emerged as Albania's main trading partners, respectively accounting for 37.1 percent, 7.1 percent, 6.5 percent and 6.2 percent of the total, data showed. Enditem
