KAMPALA, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Uganda Premier League side URA FC has sacked their head coach ahead of the regional Mapinduzi Cup to take place in Zanzibar.

Edward Kulubya, the club chief executive officer told Xinhua on Thursday that they have parted way with coach Ibrahim Kirya and his entire technical team that included assistant James Odoch and goalkeeper's coach Sadiq Wassa.

"We think as a club we should make changes at this point before we head for the Mapinduzi Cup," he said explained .

Kulubya said they will still take part in the regional tournament which will give the team good preparations ahead of the second round of the Premier League.

The event organised by the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) will kick off on Dec. 30 and URA FC is the only foreign team that has been invited to participate in the tournament. Enditem
