German shares lose 1.11 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 146.62 points, or 1.11 percent, to close at 13,069.17 points.

German personal-care company Beiersdorf lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2 percent, followed by energy group E.ON and chemical and consumer goods company Henkel, which lost 1.93 percent and 1.84 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 and multinational chemical firm Linde were the only two winners, rising 0.31 percent and 0.23 percent respectively.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 282.93 million euros (335.13 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
