Chinese state councilor meets Tanzanian, Venezuelan foreign ministers

BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Wednesday met with Tanzanian Minister for Foreign Affairs Augustine Mahiga and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza.

During the meeting with Mahiga, Yang said China will make efforts to cement contacts with Tanzania in all fields, enhance exchanges on governance experience, strengthen mutual political trust, and advance coordination on regional and global issues.

Mahiga appreciated the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and the common development vision, expressing Tanzania's will to be a good cooperative partner of China.

When meeting with Arreaza, Yang hailed the development of the China-Venezuela relationship, saying China will push forward ties with Venezuela to make the relationship yield benefits to the two peoples.

Arreaza said Venezuela is ready to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and reinforce bilateral cooperation. Enditem
