Millonarios win 15th Colombian league title

Xinhua,December 18, 2017 Adjust font size:

BOGOTA, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Millonarios won their 15th Colombian first division title on Sunday by completing a 3-2 aggregate victory over Bogota rivals Independiente Santa Fe.

Sunday's 2-2 draw at the Campin followed Millonarios' 1-0 win in the first first leg of the Clausura tournament final on Wednesday.

Wilson Morelo levelled the aggregate scoreline by converting an 18th minute penalty after John Pajoy was brought down by Matias de los Santos.

Andres Cadavid restored Millonarios' lead by heading in from a Juan Dominguez corner before Wilson Morelo squared the ledger again after a Baldomero Perlaza through ball.

Henry Rojas then sent Millonarios fans into raptures with a stunning 25-yard first-time strike into the top corner after a bungled Santa Fe clearance.

The result handed Millonarios a berth in next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's top club competition. Enditem
