HANOI, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) will take place here on Jan. 18-20 with the theme of "Parliamentary partnership: Peace, Innovation and Sustainable Development."

The APPF-26 comes following the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week in central Da Nang city and it will be an event for lawmakers across the Asia-Pacific to show support for the Da Nang Declaration, Vietnam News Agency on Friday quoted Tong Thi Phong, vice chairwoman of Vietnam's National Assembly, as saying.

Bringing together parliamentarians from across the Asia-Pacific region, the forum aims to directly assist the APEC, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

The forum is designed to address political, security, economic, social and cultural issues, thus furthering regional cooperation and building relations between and among parliamentarians from the region. Enditem
