Singaporean stocks close 0.55 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 0.55 percent or 18.84 points to close at 3,416.94.

A total of 1.46 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.31 billion Singapore dollars (about 969.7 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 209 to 173.

The STI index closed down 0.95 percent or 32.99 points to close at 3,435.78 on Thursday. Enditem
