ANKARA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The deal of Turkey's purchase of S-400 missile defense system from Russia "might be" finalized this week, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday.

"There is no problem with the S-400 deal. It maybe signed this week," Cavusoglu said at a joint news conference with his Maltese counterpart Carmelo Abela in Ankara.

Cavusoglu also said technical experts from both sides are working on setting up the S-400 system now, as the preparation of formal signing.

On Monday, after meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that officials from the two countries would meet this week to finalize the purchase of S-400 missile system.

In turn, Putin also said Russia hoped to sign agreements of defense industry with Turkey in the near future. Enditem
