BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.32 percent, at 3,292.44 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.30 percent lower at 11,110.18 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.65 percent to close at 1,794.34 points.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) Broad Index closed Thursday 6,230 points, up 5.93 points from Wednesday's finish.
Among a total of 331 issues traded, 180 registered gains and 95 incurred losses while 56 remained unchanged.

JAKARTA -- Indonesia shares closed higher by 59 points, or 0.98 percent, to a level of 6,113.65 on Thursday.
Some 336,604 transactions were booked, involving 27.3 billion copies of shares with a value of 9.6 trillion rupiah (about 707.1 million U.S. dollars).

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed higher on Thursday as benchmark indices rallied further in late trade, with the Sensex rising more than 150 points.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Thursday as market sentiment was hurt by the yen's rise against the U.S. dollar after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised interest rates and maintained its forecast for further hikes through 2019.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 63.62 points, or 0.28 percent, from Wednesday to end the day at 22,694.45.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 935.85 points on Thursday, up 11.45 points or 1.24 percent against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 172.032 million shares worth 3.944 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (175.77 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 198 stocks went up, 83 stocks fell down, while 41 stocks remained unchanged.
